About the Bakelite Flush Mount Light:

• Manufactured in Australia using the original molds and machinery of the 1930’s. Bakelite was a material traditionally used in shades used by flower growers as they could withstand high wattage globes without melting when strung over fields or hung in greenhouses.
• Supplied with black bakelite shades; other shade finishes include mottled brown, black and white speckle, mottled green and white. Please contact us for more information on purchasing these finishes.
  
• The triple and five arm steel frames have a black finish.
  
• The multi light pendant attaches to the ceiling via a hook hanger which is secured in the ceiling and then the ceiling cap covers the hole. 
• The lamp holder takes a standard bayonet (B22) light bulb, max 40W.
